Lucknow – With preparations complete and over 3,000 sports enthusiasts already registered, the sixth edition of the prestigious Lucknow Run is all set to flag off on October 27, 2024, from GD Goenka School, located in Sushant Golf City. The city’s fitness community is buzzing with anticipation as final touches are being made to welcome participants of all ages.
The race will begin and end at GD Goenka School, with a scenic and challenging route designed to pass through key sectors of Sushant Golf City. This year’s run will be held in four main categories, catering to various levels of fitness and age groups:
Race Categories:
- 3 km Fun Run – Open to men, women, and children of all ages
- 5 km Fun Run – Ideal for amateur runners looking to test their stamina
- 21 km Half Marathon – Competitive category for seasoned male and female athletes
- Children’s Participation – Included in fun run segments
The event has seen tremendous response so far, with registrations crossing the 3,000 mark. This enthusiastic participation signals not just the growing interest in fitness but also the popularity that Lucknow Run has built over the years. According to Sarvesh Goel, founder of the run and chairman of GD Goenka Public School, the goal has always been to bring the community together through fitness and inclusivity.
One of the unique features this year is the thoughtfully designed route for the half-marathon. It passes through important areas such as Ekana Stadium, Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters, and Medanta Hospital, showcasing not just Lucknow’s infrastructure but also providing a smooth and secure path for runners.
The run also boasts strong support from the military, with senior army officers, sportspersons, and prominent figures expected to participate. The atmosphere is expected to be festive and inspiring, with support stations, cheering squads, and volunteers energizing the crowd throughout the event.
Participants will receive finisher medals and digital certificates, while winners across categories will be awarded trophies to celebrate their performance.
With registration still open until the morning of the event, there’s still time for interested runners to join. The organizing team has ensured smooth onboarding and participant support on the day of the race.
