Lucknow – The city burst into energetic motion on Sunday as thousands of runners, school students, members of the Indian Army, tech professionals, and fitness lovers came together for the sixth edition of the Lucknow Run. Held at GD Goenka Public School in Sushant Golf City, the event proved to be a true carnival of health, fitness, and community spirit.
Organized across four competitive categories — 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km — the event saw tremendous participation. The 21 km half marathon drew the most attention, with seasoned athletes vying for the top positions.
Champions of the Day
In the 21 km men’s category, Avadh Narayan secured the first position, followed by Shivam Kumar and Vivek Singh. The women’s 21 km race was equally thrilling, with Premlata Gupta taking first place, followed by Priyanka Bhattal and Balwinder Kaur.
The 10 km men’s race saw Madhur emerge victorious, trailed by Ritendra Das and Gaurav Kumar. Among the women, Ja Ke Pu Ing clinched the top spot, followed by Poonam and Dr. Resha Singh.
Energy, Inclusion, and Encouragement
The Fun Run (10 km and shorter) began at 5:45 AM, bringing together participants from all age groups. People ran not only to compete but to celebrate health and personal milestones. The vibrant turnout reflected Lucknow’s growing fitness culture and the success of consistent community engagement.
Adding further prestige to the event, Lt. Gen. Mukesh Chadha, Chief of Staff of Central Command, flagged off the 3 km and 5 km categories. High-ranking officials such as IFS officer Avnish Singh, IAS officer Naveen Arora, and renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap graced the event, reinforcing the event’s stature and message of wellness.
Recognition and Celebrations
Event founder Sarvesh Goel, also the Chairman of GD Goenka School and Director of M.I. Group, presented medals and trophies to winners. All participants received e-certificates, commemorating their dedication and enthusiasm.
The race concluded with immense cheer as families, professionals, and students celebrated their finish line moments, reinforcing the idea that fitness is for everyone.
